.info is the only unrestricted, new Top Level Domain (TLD). With the saturation of the ".com" domain market, .info offers individuals and businesses an increased chance to register a domain name that may be unavailable in the other domain extensions.

Phase 1: Sunrise Period trademark advance registrations are coming soon.
Phase 2: Processing of domain pre-registrations is expected to begin on July 26, 2001 and be completed by August 16, 2001.
Phase 3: Live registration is expected to begin in late August, 2001.

There are no registration restrictions for .info. Anyone can register .info, including businesses, individuals, non-profits, and government agencies.

Phase 1: The Sunrise Period offers trademark holders the chance to secure a .info domain name that corresponds to their trademark. In order to successfully complete an application for trademark advance registration, you must:

have an active trademark that was nationally registered in any country prior to October 2, 2000;
provide your trademark registration number;
submit your requested domain name, which must be identical to your registered trademark (you may use dashes or combined words if your trademark is multiple words).

Trademark advance registrations will be accepted soon. In the event that multiple parties with relevant trademarks request the same domain name, the domain name will be awarded to one party through a random selection process. Ultimately, the more trademark advance registrations that you submit for a domain name, the greater your chance of successfully registering that domain. You will be notified upon a successful registration.

Phase 2: : Pre-registration allows anyone to submit a domain registration request for any .info domain name. Pre-registrations will be collected soon, and will be processed and awarded through a random selection process, after the Sunrise trademark registrations have been completed. Ultimately, the more pre-registrations that you submit for a domain name, the greater your chance of successfully registering that domain.

Please Note: Pre-registering a .info domain does not guarantee you a successful registration. You will be notified upon a successful registration. .info domain names will not become active and accessible over the Web until the registry becomes live in Phase Three.

Phase 3: : Live registration will allow anyone to search for available .info domain names and register them within minutes. More information will be posted as soon as it becomes available.

.info is the only new unrestricted top-level domain. Anyone may register a .info domain name for any purpose.
The domain name must conform to standard rules for domain names.

Only characters in the range A to Z, 0 to 9 and hyphen are allowed
Names can not begin or end with a hyphen
The maximum length is 63 characters (exclusive of the .info portion)

A .info domain can be registered for a minimum of two years and up to a maximum of 10 years.

Pre-registrations for domain names will be accepted until August 16, 2001*. Pre-registrations will be processed in a randomized, round robin selection process. The .info Registry will process pre-registrations from Registrars' queues, taking turns one domain name at a time, until all pre-registrations are processed and verified for availability. Only domains that have not been registered earlier in this process will be considered for registration.

Fees apply to each pre-registered domain, including duplicate pre-registrations. Take advantage of our volume discounts for multiple pre-registrations of the same domain name and increase your chances of securing the domain name that you want.

1-10 submissions:	$5.00 per pre-registration
11-50 submissions:	$4.50 per pre-registration
51-100 submissions:	$4.00 per pre-registration
101 or more submissions:	$3.50 per pre-registration

Please note that pre-registration fees are non-refundable.
Should a domain name be successfully registered, a $35 USD per year fee will be automatically charged to your credit card. Please note, there is a minimum two-year registration term for .info domains registrations.

Successfully registered domains are expected to become active approximately five minutes after the live registration phase begins on, or around, August 16, 2001.*
